The Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Office says a Conway man was arrested for having meth, along with other charges during a traffic stop on Tuesday.

Cheboygan County Sheriff Claremont says his department conducted an investigation on a traffic stop on South Straits Highway near Rondo Road in Mentor Township Tuesday.

The investigation led to the arrest of Dustin Marrion, 36, of Conway.

According to Sheriff Claremont, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in the car.

“Deputy Daniel Stacks deployed his K-9 Thor around the exterior of the vehicle and Thor gave indication of narcotics within the vehicle,” said Sheriff Claremont.

Further investigation led deputies to find a small amount of meth, several articles of paraphernalia and a handgun inside the car.

Marrion has been charged with delivery, manufacture of meth, possession of meth, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, and one count felony firearm (at the time committed or attempted to commit a felony).

Marrion was also charged as a habitual offender for previous felony convictions, and could face up to 40 years in prison.

Marrion is expected back in court in Early November.
