Michigan State Police say a Bellaire man has been arrested for criminal sexual conduct in Antrim County.

Troopers say in Feb. 2021, the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post received a referral from the MDHHS Children’s Protective Services of an alleged sexual abuse.

They say the victim disclosed that she had been sexually abused for over the course of several years.

Troopers say the child was being interviewed by a forensic interviewer at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Roscommon. They say the investigation led to an arrest warrant being issued for Michael Trosper, 36, of Bellaire on Oct. 21.

Troopers arrested Trosper at his home on Monday.

Trosper was arraigned Tuesday in the 86th District Court in Antrim County on one count criminal sexual conduct first degree with a victim under 13, and one count criminal sexual conduct second degree with a victim under 13.

Trosper is expected back in court in early November.
