Cinematographer Halyna Hutchens was memorialized with a candlelight vigil over the weekend after being killed on the set of a movie starring Alec Baldwin.

The Santa Fe Sheriff’s Office in New Mexico is investigating what they’re calling an accidental shooting that led to Hutchens’ death and wounded director Joel Souza.

It happened on the set of the movie “Rust.”

Police say the assistant director, Dave Halls, had called “cold gun” before handing it off to Baldwin, meaning it should have been safe to use.

Another crew member says she had reported that assistant director for being careless with weapons on set back in 2019.

Halls has not made any public comments about what happened.
