Traverse City Adopting Healthier Drinking Culture Strategic Plan
The Traverse City Board of Commissioners decided to adopt the Healthier Drinking Culture Strategic Plan.
All of the commissioners voted in favor of the plan on Monday night.
It comes after the Downtown Development Authority approved the plan on Friday.
Some of the plan’s short-term goals include identifying a community policing officer, cameras, and more lighting for safety.
“I am very confident this report contains actionable items that we can do in the short, medium and long term to address the issues,” said Christie Minervini, Traverse City Commissioner. “I am very proud of the way this body has taken on a subject that is a difficult complex.”
The Traverse City Downtown Development Authority is looking at grant opportunities to help implement some short-term goals.
