The Mason County Sheriff’s Office says a Manistee man was injured following an assault Thursday night.
Deputies say they responded to an assault in the 6100 block of East US-10 in Branch Township around 9 p.m.
Deputies say they found a 26-year-old man bleeding from a head injury, which they say was reportedly caused by a strike to the head with a metal object.
The man has been taken to a local hospital for treatment to his head injury, which deputies say is not considered life-threatening.
Deputies say the suspect fled the scene, but has not yet been identified.
The case remains under investigation.
