Up North Pride Hosts Events After Summer Cancellation

After June’s cancellation of Pride Month events due to COVID-19, Up North Pride is hosting several in-person events the week of Oct. 13-17 in Traverse City.

UnplogoThe events kicked off on Wednesday with Pride Ride to Little Fleet, where there was a sign making party for Saturday’s Visibility March.

On Friday, Up North Pride is hosting a comedy show at Shorts Brewery that’s sold out.

On Saturday, Dharamsala Yoga will host a vinyasa flow class from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Up North Pride’s main events take place on Saturday: a Pride Picnic at F&M Park that leads to the organization’s Visibility March. The march ends at the Open Space, where there will be a drag show and a silent disco.

On Sunday, Up North Pride will host a brunch at the Open Space from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Up North Pride says they’re looking forward to having in-person events again.

“To do it in person and see the people in our community that maybe from day to day don’t show their pride out loud, this gives them an opportunity to do that and for us to celebrate everybody,” said Social Media Coordinator Heather Spooner.
