Frankfort Fall Fest Returns This Saturday

It’s been a whole two years since Frankfort hosted a Fall Festival. The festivities were canceled last year due to COVID. Fall Fest will return this Saturday.

“We had nothing last year and we weren’t able to have the Fourth of July parade here. We had some major construction going on. So everyone is so happy,” says Joanne Bartley , Frankfort-Elberta Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

It’s one of the last weekend’s before the off-season for tourism business begins.

“Businesses break records on days like these when it’s off season and they really don’t have business,” says Bartley. “It’s important to have these events not only for the community, but for tourists.”

Cory Bissell owns Kilwin’s of Frankfort on Main Street. He says the festival always brings in plenty of customers with a hankering for sweets. He hopes the warmer than usual weather might sell some ice cream.

“The past two fall fests before last year were really great for us,” says Bissell. “The weather was fairly nice in that it brought a bunch of people into town and topped each year.”

Fall fest isn’t the only event going on in Frankfort this weekend. Saturday is the end of Beer Fest week. Many local breweries have their products available at the beer tent off Main Street.

“Fall fest brings some people into town and certainly it’s one of the last weekends before everything buttons up for the winter,” says Rick Schmitt, Co-owner of Stormcloud Brewing. “We’re very excited to have Fall Fest back in Frankfort it’s one of the best weekends of the whole year.”
