Traverse City Hosts Voting Sticker Design Contest for Students

Traverse City has issued a challenge to K-12 students to come up with voting sticker designs.

Students from Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Antrim and Kalkaska Counties can participate in the contest. A public vote will select three winners out of six finalists.

Winners will each receive $100 and be announced at the Monday, Oct. 11 Traverse City Commission meeting. Voting Sticker Contest

Winning stickers will be handed out at polling places in Traverse City in November.

“Everyone knows when they go to a polling place and they get to vote, they get the ‘I voted’ sticker, but a lot of people bring little ones with them,” Traverse City Clerk Benjamin Marentette said. “There’s just really unique sort of ways people have come up with logos to help engender some civic pride and hopefully future voter participation.”

You can view contest designs and cast your vote here. Voting ends Sunday, Oct. 10.
