BCBS, Priority Health To Stop Waiving Costs For COVID-19 Care at Midnight

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will stop waiving costs for COVID-19 care at midnight Thursday.

According to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, “We want you to stay focused on getting better. If you need treatment for COVID-19 symptoms, we’ll take care of the costs through September 30*. For care that’s not related to COVID-19 symptoms, regular benefits apply.”

This comes after Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan extended coverage of costs for COVID-19 care on February 9th.  Coverage of co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance for COVID-19 were originally going to expire in March.

Priority Health will also stop waiving costs of COVID-19 care at midnight Thursday.

Starting at midnight, Priority Health will no longer waive all co-pays, deductibles and coinsurance for the treatment of COVID-19 from in-network providers.

For both insurance companies, regular benefits for covid treatment will apply.
