Traverse City Healthier Drinking Culture Team Presents Results After Year Long Study
The Traverse City Healthier Drinking Culture Team presented their results after a year-long study Monday.
They gave three different steps to the action plan.
Steps within 18 months include updating the liquor license permit process, while steps for between one to three years include installing more outdoor lighting on city streets.
Long term steps that would take four to five years include more transportation options for people.
Overall, the group says their goal is to make Traverse City a safer place for everyone.
“A healthy drinking culture in TC features a joyful, celebratory, respectful and fun environment for all people who live, work and play in TC whether or not they choose to drink alcohol,” said Elise Crafts of Statecraft Project Management.
The Board of Commissioners will vote in October on whether or not they approve the plan.
