Florida Man Dies Following Montcalm County Crash
The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office says one man has died and two others were injured after a crash in Montcalm County Friday.
Deputies say they responded to the report of a tw0-car crash at the intersection of North Federal Road and West Almy Road around 5:02 p.m.
According to deputies, their investigation revealed that a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling West on West Almy Road when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign at North Federal Road.
The Equinox was then hit at the intersection by a 1992 Chevrolet Silverado traveling North on North Federal Road.
They say the driver of the Silverado, a 73-year-old man from Morley, and the driver of the Equinox, a 52-year-old man from Winter Park, Florida, were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The front seat passenger of the Equinox, a 72-year-old man from Winter Park, Florida, was airlifted by aeromed. Deputies say the man died due to his injuries sustained in the crash.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, seatbelts were used by all occupants involved in the crash, and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
