Michigan State Police say a Utah woman has plead guilty to four charges in the death of Michigan State Police Trooper Caleb Starr last summer.

Troopers say Thomasina Jones appeared in the 8th District Court Thursday and plead guilty to homicide: murder in the second degree, operating with a high blood alcohol content causing death with a prior conviction, operating while license suspended, revoked or denied causing death, and operating while intoxicated: a third offense.

Jones was scheduled for a jury trial that was to begin next week. A sentencing date has not been set.

Troopers say Trooper Starr joined the MSP in Sept. of 2018 as a member of the 135th Trooper Recruit School.

Trooper Starr was 33-years-old. He is survived by his wife Rachael and their two young daughters.
