The Onaway Chamber of Commerce will soon go through a transition with every member of the board deciding to step down.
For a few years the same group has done their best to support businesses in the area but it’s now time for a change. They were planning to step down last year, but with the COVID Pandemic, they decided that it wasn’t the right time.
Current President of the Chamber Kamron Oberlin will also step down but believes they have passionate people in the city that will do a great job.
“I think it’ll be an asset to the businesses to have a fresh team that has a little more energy and they’re ready to take on the next season of the Chamber,” he said. “I think the chamber plays a vital role in Onaway and I definitely excited to see what that new chamber will be able to do.”
They already have people interested but are still waiting for someone to step up to the position of president in order to make the transition.
