Traverse City Teen, Mother Jailed in Florida Following Traverse City Road Rage Incident

A northern Michigan teenager and his mother are in a Daytona Beach jail weeks after a road rage incident in Traverse City.

The Traverse City Police Department says the 16-year-old male attacked another driver with a knife back on Aug. 8 on Carver Road between Grant and Barlow.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect and his 34-year-old mother were found with the assistance of the Daytona Beach Police Department.

The 16-year-old will be charged as an adult and faces charged of assault with intent to commit bodily harm less than murder. The teen’s mother is facing charges as an accessory to a felony and lying to a police officer. Both are in a Daytona Beach jail awaiting extradition.
