MSP Trooper Involved In Three Car Crash

Michigan State Police say a trooper was involved in a three car crash in Grand Traverse County around 9:20 a.m. Wednesday.

Troopers say the crash happened on North Keystone Road in Blair Township.

They say the trooper was Southbound on North Keystone Road, and was attempting to make a left turn onto Hoch Road when a grey Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 55-year-old Mt. Pleasant woman struck the trooper’s car from behind.

Michigan State Police say the force of the crash sent the trooper into oncoming Northbound traffic where he was struck again by a 20-year-old woman from Cedar who was driving a red Honda Pilot.

The trooper and the driver of the Honda reported no injuries at the scene.

The at-fault driver has been taken to a local hospital in Traverse City and has been hospitalized for broken ribs and a broken foot.

Troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
