Michigan has surpassed one million confirmed cases of the coronavirus.
This comes after health officials report 6,079 new cases of the virus and 81 additional deaths Wednesday.
According to the MDHHS, over Tuesday and Wednesday, the new average number of cases per day is now approximately 3,040 per day.
Additionally, they say 52 of the 81 deaths reported Wednesday were identified during a review of vital records.
As of Tuesday, 4,926,568 Michiganders ages twelve and older have been fully vaccinated against the virus.
And as of Sept. 17, 906,096 Michiganders are reported to have recovered from the virus.
