The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department is teaming up with MSU Extension to keep kids off of drugs.

It’s called “Hidden in Plain Sight,” an information trailer for parents to learn the clues to where their kids might hide drugs.

The idea started three years ago, but finally became reality the past few months.

The trailer has specific areas and items in it where kids could hide illegal drugs. It will be set up at various schools in the Eastern U.P. during parent teacher conferences.

“It’s what we need in our community and just to spread the word and hope we change one parents’ look on what might be in their child’s bedroom,” said Maggie Merchberger of MSU Extension.

The entire contents of the trailer were donated by various organizations or businesses.
