A 31-year-old man is in the Emmet County Jail after being arrested for meth in Petoskey.
Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement searched Cody James Bantien’s room at a motel on Sept. 8.
The Byron Center man had methamphetamine, Buprenorphine (an opioid), steroids, cash, a handgun and ammunition, as well as other evidence.
Bantien is charged with one count of meth delivery and one count intent to deliver, both with a sentence of 20 years and/or $25,000.
His firearm charges include owning a gun and ammo as a felon, both worth 5 years and/or $5,000, and a two year sentence for felony firearm possession.
He’s also charged with using a computer to commit a crime, 20 years and/or $20,000.
Officers say this is Bantien’s fourth offense as a habitual offender.
