Body of Leelanau County Woman Found on West Grand Traverse Bay Beach
Detectives are hoping for help from the public as they continue the investigation into the body that was found Wednesday on the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay.
The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office identified the woman as Elaine Silva of Leelanau County, and say there was no evidence of trauma on her body.
Detectives are now asking for tips from anyone who may have seen Silva in the last week.

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office says the body of a deceased Leelanau County woman was found on a beach off West Grand Traverse Bay Thursday morning.
The sheriff’s office has confirmed that the victim is identified as Elaine Silva from Leelanau County.
Details are extremely limited at this point and investigators are not sure how the body got on the beach.
Several departments are on the scene, including the Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Traverse Band Tribal Police, Michigan State Police and the FBI.
Grand Traverse County deputies say there are no recent signs of trauma on the body.
