Both North and South Korea tested ballistic missiles early Wednesday morning.

The missile tests come as tensions between the two countries continue to rise.

South Korea has been working on their missile defense system in order to be less dependent on the U.S.

That has sparked North Korea to ramp up their missile testing.

North Korea fired missiles for the second day in a row.

Their missile tests on Wednesday landed in the water off the east coast of the Korean peninsula.

Just three hours later, South Korea fired a missile of their own.
