Munson Healthcare Dedicates Playground To Creator of Onsite Childcare Services for Employees
For three decades, Munson Healthcare has been offering onsite childcare services for employees.
On Tuesday, it honored the person responsible for starting the services.
It was Human Resources Director Sue Peters’ idea to have childcare services to help recruit and retain employees 30 years ago.
It began with 50 kids, and grew to hundreds across five different programs in Traverse City.
To honor Peters’ work, a new playground at one of the childcare centers is being dedicated in her name. And the playground is already bringing smiles to children’s faces.
“There is so much joy, truly, I mean we had a few balls and some things to play with but now they have a great playground with a great view of the cement factory with all the different trucks and everything so there is a lot of joy this playground brings every day,” said Brigid Wilson, Manager of Children’s Educational Services for Munson Healthcare.
In addition to the new playground, Munson Healthcare is starting a new staff innovation award in Sue Peters’ name.
