“Suicide is a national health epidemic,” and a local community organization is making a ‘call to action’ to help prevent this heartbreaking disease.

September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and is hosting a special event to spread the word about suicide, how to prevent it, and aftercare grief support – on September 10, World Suicide Awareness Day, 6 PM – 8 PM at Sunset Park in Traverse City.

This event will not be a walk – they will instead be standing as ONE to show their local community that Suicide Awareness is vital and valued! The candle-lit moment of silence and remembrance will start at 7:45 pm. Please plan to follow current COVID-19 guidelines for outdoor gatherings and bring your own candle. The event is FREE—please consider a donation in any amount to a Hope L;ves nonprofit partner.
