UPDATE 8/30 – Arthur Road shooting suspect has been arrested
The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate shootings that happened over the weekend.
We’re told gunshots were fired into the air during a fight at Campus Creek apartments early Sunday morning.
Deputies say 3 or 4 people were beating a man up.
They found him on the ground, bleeding from the head when they arrived.
The suspect has not been identified, but is described as a light skinned black male, with a tear drop tattoo under his right eye.
The second shooting happened on Arthur Road near 40th Avenue in Sheridan Township.
Deputies say a man was shot twice and then went to a neighbors house for help.
The victim and a witness told deputies different stories about a possible suspect.
Deputies say the victim is not cooperating and not providing any more information about how he was shot.
Both shootings are under investigation and we’re told they are not related.
