A new event downtown Traverse City pulled people out to the Old Town Corridor of downtown.

At the corner of Lake and Cass St. the DDA closed down traffic to pedestrians only.

They are calling it the Last Slice of Summer.

They had face painters, DJs, love musicians, and local food vendors.

This is the first Last Slice of Summer and the DDA was able to make it happen in less than three weeks.

It’s purpose is to help our businesses that may have missed out a little this summer season.

Katy McCain, Director of Community Development says, “Everyone knows there’s been a lot of bridge construction downtown and especially in the old time corridor, so we kind of just wanted to give back to the businesses that are here, bring business to all of them.”

The Traverse City DDA says after Friday, they may look into this becoming an annual event.
