Police are investigating a murder that happened at a Sault Ste. Marie home late Tuesday night.
Chippewa County Central Dispatch got a call from a home on Minneapolis Street saying that both a man and woman had been badly cut.
When police got to the house they say officers found Hayley Smith dead inside, but the man was nowhere to be found.
Police later found him just a few blocks away and arrested him.
He was taken to the hospital and is being treated for severe cuts on his arm.
The Sault Ste. Marie police department says they are still investigating and have not released the name of the man who was arrested.
