Northwestern Michigan College Holding Tryouts For E-Sports Program This Weekend

Northwestern Michigan College’s E-Sports program is creating two varsity teams for competition this fall.

The university is holding tryouts this weekend for members. On Saturday, Aug. 14 they will hold tryouts for a four person team for the fun twist on soccer ‘Rocket League.’

On Sunday, Aug 15, they look to fill an eight person squad for the team shooter game ‘Overwatch.’

Northwestern Michigan College’s E-Sports Director says they’ve already seen a great response to their casual e-sports club, and hopes to grow their competitive program as more players join.

“This year’s really just about getting the program going and team building,” said Terri Gustafson, Director of Educational Technology and E-Sports at NMC. “We’re really looking for players that are willing to be part of a team and willing to grow as a team.”
