Brewvine: The Ridge at Verterra

The warm weather has been great for the grape growing season and Verterra Winery says the vineyards are about 10 days ahead of schedule.

For this week’s Brewvine, Whitney Amann and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson take you to The Ridge at Verterra where you can get an up close look at the progress and their newly expanded site.

“Many people know about Verterra wines from Leland but we have been doing weddings up here, at The Ridge at Verterra for several years, but now we’re open for tastings, until the middle of October up here seven days a week, unless we have a wedding,” said owner, Paul Hamlin. “We’ve really developed the site up here and opened it up, it’s just a gorgeous location.”

With the addition of a new outdoor tasting room, retail shop, and terrace, Verterra Winery turned this already stunning venue into a space where their customers can come out and enjoy a glass of their delicious, award winning wine.

You can taste their crisp chardonnay or refreshing rosé while taking in the sights from the terrace or while walking through their working vineyard.

No matter how you choose to spend your time at the ridge, Verterra Winery wants you to have a relaxing experience.

“You can sit, relax, bring a group of people, have a glass of wine, some flights, nibble on some cheeses, just de stress and enjoy summer, it’s as simple as that,” said Hamlin.
