The Village of Copemish is excited to welcome back a beloved tradition that was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Copemish Heritage Days will take place Aug. 7-8.

The festival hosts a parade and carnival games on Saturday, and Sunday is the Copemish Historical Society’s 5k Run/Walk, which raises money for the historical society.

This year, festival organizers invited some special guests to join the parade, including Twisted Trails Off Roading, the Betsie Valley Community mobile dental van, and Smokey the Bear.

“It’s important to show the community that we’re all still here and we all really support each other,” said Copemish Heritage Days volunteer Amy Herrst. “The kids need to come out and enjoy some fun things with their parents and their families.”

Copemish Heritage Days started in 2004 as a way to educate people on the village’s history and as a way for the community to come together and celebrate.
