Wexford/Missaukee/Osceola/Mecosta Relay For Life 2021
Relay For Life returns to Cadillac
Following cancellations in 2020 and budget cuts in 2021, the American Cancer Society is reaching back out to communities for help by bringing Relay For Life to the Wexford Civic Center with A Walk around the World: A Community Celebration, on August 28th, 10am to 8pm. The Cadillac event will be in-person: including food and entertainment.
Fewer Relay For Life events this year than in pre-COVID years means that community involvement is more critical than ever. In addition to research funding, The ACS provides: answers, guidance, and support, so that no one has to face a cancer diagnosis alone. This means that the focus of Relay For Life remains on recognizing and supporting Cancer Survivors and Caregivers. Kris Arnold, Event Lead for Relay For Life Wexford, Missaukee, Osceola, and Mecosta Counties, says that “You are a cancer survivor the moment you receive a cancer diagnosis” and that “a Caregiver, is always a caregiver, even if you lose your survivor.” This inclusive view encourages those whose lives have been impacted by cancer to come together and share their experiences.
Cancer Survivors and Caregivers should preregister if possible: no running or walking required. The first 100 survivors and caregivers to sign up will receive a gift bag and a free meal, at the survivor’s dinner. Sign up here.
Join Relay For Life on day 2 in Cadillac for/ music, food, vendors, and more, at Cadillac City Park, August 29th, Noon to 10pm.
