Mary Ramey says the Beulah community has been nothing but welcoming.
“I was born in the Philippines, and grew up in Singapore, I came over here,” she explained.
She is bringing her roots to Northern Michigan with her food truck, Mary’s Asian Cuisine.
“Yes when I was a kid I started cooking with my dad, he is a chef,” she said. “He says you need to have the magic, so only if you got it, you got magic in your hand.”
Mary is the only person cooking in the food truck.
“To make sure they got the right food,” she said.
Mary is loading up her signature Asian tacos.
“The pork, the flavors is from Asia but I mix it up and make my own signature, so people will know that that’s Mary,” she said. “You eat it, you’re addicted you want it some more and more.”
She says seeing people come back time and time again makes her feel proud and accomplished.
“I love to cook, I love to feed people, and I am happy with that in my heart, it’s so nice to hear the people compliment your hard work,” she said.
Everything at Mary’s Asian Cuisine is homemade, which of course include the sauces.
She cans and sells them now that they’ve gained so much popularity.
They’re perfect for dipping your spring roll, with some bacon fried rice on the side.
“It’s just regular fried rice from Asia and I recognize that America loves bacon, so what I did was mix the bacon to make bacon fried rice, and people love it,” Mary said.
Mary is cooking for you, but feeding her own soul at the same time.
“People around here are so friendly and welcoming with all their heart, so I would love to show all my heart my talent too,” she said.
