A 32-year-old Lake City woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and several other driving offenses following a traffic stop in Haring Township Sunday evening.

Michigan State Police contacted the driver of a vehicle at a gas station on North Mitchell Street in Haring Twp. Sunday, Aug. 1 around 11:30 p.m. for displaying a registration plate that did not belong on vehicle. The driver, Jamie Marie Nixon, did not have a valid operator’s license. She also did not have insurance on the vehicle.

A wrecker service was called and during an inventory search of the vehicle, troopers discovered a small container of methamphetamine. Nixon was arrested and lodged in the Wexford County Jail.

Nixon was arraigned in Wexford County District Court Monday for one count possession of methamphetamine, one count driving while license suspended, one count operating a motor vehicle without insurance and second offense notice. Her bond was set at $20,000 cash surety. She is scheduled back in court on Aug. 17.
