Consumers Energy has been reaching out to customers leading up to Wednesday’s severe storms.

They say to be sure your phone is fully charged before you go to bed.

If the power goes out in the middle of the night, you could wake up with a dead phone.

Right now, counties as far as Leelanau are having their road commission on standby as they anticipate some road closures due to flooding or downed trees and lines.

“With a storm system like this we expect power outages, downed wires, other safety hazards,” said West Michigan Spokesperson for Consumers Energy, Josh Pacioreck. “It would be a good idea instead of waiting until you go to bed to charge your electric devices charge them earlier in the day.”
