Leelanau Township Library Summer Writer’s Series Concludes Tuesday Night

Tuesday night marked the end of the Leelanau Township Library’s Summer Writer’s Series.

Over the last month, four local authors have presented and discussed their work with local community members.

Tuesday’s author, Anne-Marie Oomen, shared her latest work “Elemental,” a compilation of essays showing the wide variety of Michigan voices across the state.

Oomen says the Leelanau community always have a deep appreciation for art and writing, and loves to engage with them.

“It’s a rich audience, they’ve nurtured it here and it’s really a good thing culturally and socially for the community,” said Oomen. “And especially now coming out of the pandemic, a return to this kind of cultural focus is kind of important for all of us.”

The Friends of the Leelanau Township Library say they hope to see more amazing authors next year.
