On Monday evening the Traverse City Are Public School Board gathered together and are working on a third anti-racism resolution.
The school board meeting comes after hearing complaints from hundreds in the community, especially when it came to the school’s previous solutions.
TCAPS has been looking at how to handle racist situations after a snapchat group called “Slave Trade” involving students was made public in April.
The TCAPS board has made two previous revisions to an anti-racism resolution and their third resolution is expected to condemn racism and discrimination.
It is also expected to outline six steps the district will take for students and staff to learn about diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
We have a 9&10 News crew inside tonight’s meeting and we’ll take a full look at the resolution tonight at 10 and 11.
