Methamphetamine Investigation In Emmet County Leads To Arrest

The Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement team announced on Monday that two men from Jackson were arrested on July 1 for selling methamphetamine in Emmet County.

Michael Anthony Cunningham, 40, was charged with the following:

  • One count delivery of methamphetamine;
  • One count conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine;
  • One count delivery of fentanyl;
  • One count conspiracy to deliver fentanyl;
  • Two counts using computers to commit a crime; and,
  • Habitual offender – fourth offense notice.

Gary Wilson Jr., 39, was charged with the following:

  • One count delivery of methamphetamine;
  • One count conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine;
  • One count delivery of fentanyl;
  • One count conspiracy to deliver fentanyl; and,
  • Habitual offender – third offense notice.

On July 1 SANE arranged to meet Cunningham and Wilson in Petoskey to purchase methamphetamine and heroin.

After buying the meth and heroin, SANE followed them to the Vanderbilt area where troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post stopped their vehicle. The men were arrested, and the vehicle was seized.

SANE transported and lodged the suspects at the Emmet County Jail.
