House Approves Visa Bill for Afghans Who Aided U.S. Forces
Afghans who have worked alongside the U.S. military are one step closer to leaving Afghanistan.
It comes as the Taliban threatens to regain control of the country and kill those Afghans who helped U.S. forces.
The House approved a bill Thursday to streamline the Afghanistan Special Immigrant Visa Program.
It increases the number of spots to 8,000.
This bill is one of the few being introduced in both chambers to try and get the process started for the thousands of Afghans waiting for a visa.
