Grand Traverse Metro Fire Dept. Hosting 9/11 Ceremony, 20th Anniversary

The Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department announced they will be hosting a 9/11 ceremony in honor of the 20th anniversary.

The ceremony will be taking place at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 11 at the 9/11 Memorial Park.

Over 3,000 Americans lost their lives, including 343 firefighters. The fire department says the ceremony is to take a moment to reflect, honor and to never forget.

On April 11, 2011, Grand Traverse Metro Firefighters transported a 3,100 pound piece of steel from the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
