Great Lakes Rally 2021 Passes Through Sault Ste. Marie
A scavenger hunt of a different kind cruised through the Upper Peninsula Tuesday and continued on from Sault Ste. Marie Wednesday morning.
Eighty cars took part in the Great Lakes Rally 2021 scavenger hunt that began in Eau Claire, Wis. on Sunday and will end in Ohio Thursday.
The scavenger hunt is a fundraising effort that benefits multiple sclerosis research. At each stop, participants must find hidden clues and earn points.
The winner earns bragging rights and a plaque.
“It is our first time in the U.P. for a summer event,” said Great Lakes Rally operations manager Tony Intrieri. “We wanted to do something in the Midwest. We wanted to see this part of the country so we try to go to a different part of the country each year to take in the sights that are there.”
So far the organization has raised more than $220,000 for multiple sclerosis research.
