Bob Thibaudeau was a Captain for the Interlake Steamship Company for 42 years.

Interlake is home of the largest freighter on the Great Lakes; the Paul R. Tregurtha. It measures at 1013-feet-long by 105-feet-wide.

While in charge on the Tregurtha, Captain Bob made his last voyage through Sault Ste. Marie back on July 3 and is on his way to his last stop in St. Clair, Michigan.

In today’s Northern Michigan From Above, photojournalist Jim Lehocky treats us to his farewell trip on the St. Mary’s river.
