Curry House Partners with Hospice of Michigan for 3rd Annual 24-Hour Fundraiser

On July 16, people from all over Northern Michigan gathered at the Curry House in Cadillac for the 3rd Annual “Rockin’ Around The Clock” fundraiser.

The event was created in 2018 in hopes to raise money for Hospice of Michigan, the largest nonprofit hospice organization in Michigan. During the fundraiser, volunteers and participants rocked in rocking chairs for 24-hours on the porch of the Curry House, a retired and assisted living facility.

Rae Berwald, Sales and Marketing Director for the Curry House, and her co-worker, thought the idea would be able to get everyone involved, especially their residents.

“What better than sitting in a rocking chair and rocking 24-hours, and we could raise money for a community organization… a local organization,” she said.

There was also a pie-throwing portion to the fundraiser, which Berwald said was a success.

Senior Vice President of Hospice of Michigan said all the proceeds raised will benefit Hospice of Michigan patients, giving them quality-end-of-life care.

“Hospice of Michigan loves working with Curry House. We have a lot of patients that we share and they do a great job at the residential work and we provide the hospice care.”
