Michigan State Police say a pilot is unharmed after a plane crash in Cheboygan County Wednesday.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post responded to the crash at the Cheboygan County Airport around 12:20 p.m.

Their initial investigation found that the pilot was approaching the airport from the West to land, but he did not deploy his landing gear.

They say the airplane skidded approximately 150 yards on the runway.

Troopers say the 66-year-old pilot from Pointe Aux Pins was not injured and was the only occupant of the plane.

They say a report and photos have been submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration for further review.
