Vanderbilt Man Arraigned, Possession Of Methamphetamine

MelchingA 29-year-old man from Vanderbilt was arraigned Friday morning for possession of methamphetamine.

Matthew Lee Melching was arraigned in the 87-A District Court in Otsego County, and was given a $5,000 PR bond.

On June 22, a trooper from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post was called to perform a welfare check on a man outside of a business located on Main Street in Vanderbilt.

The trooper said that when he arrived Melching was making unnatural repetitive movements.

Later it was determined that Melching was under the influence of methamphetamine.

The trooper then located a syringe in Melching’s backpack filled with fluid.

Melching’s next scheduled court appearance is on July 1.
