Brewvine: Summer Food, Fun, Suds and Sun at North Peak Brewing Company

Summer means food, fun, suds and sun at in Traverse City.

For this week’s Brewvine, Whitney Amann and photojournalist Jeremy Erickson take us to the brewery where summer is already in full swing.

“North Peak Brewing Company first and foremost is a brewery, we make outstanding handcrafted beer, we’re very proud of that but our culinary experiences is as equal to our great beer, our chef does a fantastic job, using the beers to blend with the recipes to create a very unique flavor for our menu items,” said Mike Lloyd, managing partner.

You can pair that delicious food with your favorite North Peak Beer or try one of their seasonal offerings.

They also have a wide variety of venue options for customers.

North peak brewing company’s casual, family atmosphere makes it a great place to grab a meal and a beer, you can head downstairs to Kilkenny’s Irish Pub for some drinks and dancing, or soak up every minute of summer out on their deck.

“We’re cooped up all winter long and just getting outdoors is the first thing on our mind when the sun’s out so we’re happy to provide one of the best outdoor dining experiences in the county and combined with what we have going on inside, it’s a good place to come to visit when you’re on a Brewvine tour,” he said.

North Peak is excited to see the end of covid restrictions this summer but it still has a ways to go on this long road back to normal.

“We’re happy to be back at 100% capacity unfortunately we don’t have the staff to support that, so anyone that’s looking for employment out there, come see us at North Peak or Kilkennys, we’d love to talk to you” said Lloyd. “But the other restrictions being lifted are very welcome, we’re happy to be open until two downstairs and Kilkennys for live music until later and just the mask mandate is so much more comfortable during the summer for our kitchen staff and the deck staff when it’s 90 to 100 degrees outside.”
