Grand Traverse Metro Fire Dept. Looking for Community Help to Finish 9/11 Memorial
The Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department needs your help finishing their 9/11 memorial, in time to mark 20 years since the attacks.
The department is asking for donations to make storyboards at the memorial permanent.
They’re also looking for donations to place bricks with the name and assignment of every firefighter killed on 9/11.
They still need sponsors for a little more than 150 bricks.
“Just to see that the community supports us would mean a lot. And not only are they supporting it in their words, in their time and their treasures as well. We don’t want this to be the fire departments memorial, we want it to be the communities memorial,” said Chief Pat Parker.
