Village of Shepherd Raising Money for Community Splash Park
Some community members in the Village of Shepherd hope to make a “splash” with their plans to install a splash park downtown.
The idea was started by community member Kathy Edwards two years ago as a place for kids to go and cool off in the summer.
The splash park rendering features jets, water cannons, and a maple leaf water fountain.
Right now, the village has $141,000 raised of their $175,000 goal.
“The donations are still pouring in right now,” said Kent Roth, owner of the Shepherd Bar and Restaurant, and splash park committee member. “I’m confident we’ll hit our goal. We’ll know this week and that’ll keep flowing right over to phase 2.”
In phase 2 committee members hope to raise money for a bath house and restrooms for the park.
The village hopes to complete the park by spring of 2022.
