England Delays Lifting COVID-19 Restrictions As Delta Variant Spreads

England will no longer lift all COVID-19 restrictions on June 21.

The United Kingdom says they’ve had a successful vaccine rollout, with more than half of the adult population fully vaccinated.

However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson says he is stalling the opening because of the growing cases of the delta variant first detected in India.

Now he plans to lift all COVID-19 restrictions on July 19.

He says he believes the delay will give the country time to vaccinate more people.
