TCAPS Holds Meeting Over Release Of Memo Regarding Former Superintendent

6/15 Update 12:30 a.m. – The TCAPS board has voted to release the full memo

TCAPS board members are still discussing whether or not to release a memo regarding former Superintendent Ann Cardon.

Cardon was only on the job for 70 days when she resigned suddenly in Oct. 2019.

The board is in closed session to discuss releasing a memo written by then-board President Sue Kelly surrounding the circumstances of Cardon’s abrupt exit.

Board members could vote tonight to make the document public.

It comes after multiple Freedom of Information Act requests and even a court order to make the document public by June 24.

Those in the community hope that the release of these documents will start to finish this long controversy.

“Really, now, who cares? To me the important thing now is to study this, to learn how to prevent the enormous destruction that has happened. It’s not a time to name heroes or villains,” said commenter Bill Smith.
