SkyTrak Cranes Tip Over On Cass Street Bridge

Construction work on the South Cass Street bridge got off to a rough start Monday.

As two SkyTraks worked to lower a floating barge into the Boardman River, the two machines tipped over.

The Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy were called to the scene as a small amount of fluid leaked from the Skytraks.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but it became quite the task to remove and reset the Skytraks back onto the bridge.

However, crane operators were able to complete the task while avoiding nearby telephone wires.

Construction on the bridge is still expected to be completed on time by November.
