The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office says a woman has been injured in a hit and run accident.

They say the hit and run happened on 15 Mile Road near Oakwood Drive in Big Rapids Township, and say after the accident, the suspect crashed a second time.

Deputies say the first accident occurred when a 17-year-old woman from Big Rapids was rear-ended by a 47-year-old woman from White Cloud.

The 47-year-old then fled the scene and crashed a second time approximately a mile down the road after she lost control of her car and overturned.

Deputies say the woman from White Cloud has been taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, and the 17-year-old Big Rapids woman was uninjured.

They say alcohol and speed are factors in the two crashes.
