Son Says Coach Schembechler Knew About U of M Doctor’s Abuse

More than 900 men have come forward in a series of lawsuits against the University of Michigan, saying they were molested by a university doctor.

One of the victims is Matt Schembechler, the son of legendary football coach Bo Schembechler.

Matt says he was only 10 years old the first time he was molested by U of M doctor Robert Anderson.

Anderson worked for the university for nearly 40 years and died in 2008.

Matt says when he tried to tell his dad about the molestation, Bo denied his son’s allegations and backed Anderson.

Now the accusers hope their words will help protect future athletes.

A report commissioned by U of M found that the university received hundreds of allegations over several decades about Anderson, but failed to act.
